Imagine a club for dogs (and later other pets), that is a universal tool for owners from community to service provider reviews and special benefits - that provides the benefits of apps and tools like 23 and me, AARP, AKC, health and accident insurance, Tinder, Instagram, Angi’s List, Facebook, TikTok, SubStack, and other tools, world wide! With 68 million dog owning families in the US, such a club could provide access to higher quality, cheaper services and products, and improve their health and lives while saving them money.

A registry that supports all dogs regardless of breed will be a valuable resource for owners. It can also be useful to veterinarians, to researchers, and to potential breed-agnostic dog event producers.

The majority (53%) of dogs in the US are mixed breed, including many dogs that are purposeful mixes like the “-doodle” crosses, and those apparently purebred but without documented breeding. There is a consensus of opinion that mixed breeds are less susceptible to many diseases and ailments endemic to certain purebreds and generally have more even temperaments. But without a known genetic and developmental history, any mixed breed dog has unknown temperament, physical fitness and capability, and potential for medical, developmental, and aging disorders.

They also don't presently have a good equivalent resource to breed registries to help maintain and improve their breeding stock, although some cross breeders do communicate and maintain a more or less formal network. This could be a valuable resource provided by the club.

A good registry can provide a reliable baseline and proof or disproof of the supposed advantages of various crosses, and information to suggest new ones previously not proposed. It can combat the disdain and rejection of crossbreeds by the purebreed community, and provide an alternative tool for them as well. It can provide an alternative resource for breeders of all: purebreds, crossbreds, and "mutts” looking for a good breeding candidate.

In doing these things, such a registry and its associated “clubs” can help maintain and improve the overall fitness, health, intelligence, and happiness of dogs as a whole.

So that's why we are here. We can build a resource that is useful for all dog owners and the industry, including purebreds as well. We intend to make it an unbiased tool, and to provide a common resource for the community.
